Kids Raingear – Monsoon-Ready Raincoats & Ponchos

India's monsoon is glorious, chaotic and completely unavoidable. Peekaboo Patterns' kids raingear keeps little ones dry without keeping them indoors — waterproof ponchos and raincoats in bright prints that make even the wettest school run a cheerful affair. Pair with shoe bags and backpacks for a fully weatherproof school kit.

Ponchos vs Raincoats: Which to Choose?

Ponchos are the winner for quick, easy coverage — throw over the head in seconds, covers the school bag too. Raincoats offer a more tailored fit with sleeves and are better for sustained heavy rain. Peekaboo offers both, so parents can choose what suits their school and commute.

Waterproof Without Being Sweaty

Our raingear uses a breathable waterproof membrane — keeping rain out without trapping body heat inside. This is critical in India where monsoon season comes with humidity, not just rain.

Packable Design

Both ponchos and raincoats fold into a compact carry pouch — small enough to live permanently in a school backpack or sling bag so kids are always prepared when the sky opens up.

Fun Prints for Reluctant Rain-Walkers

Bright prints — ducks, rainbows, clouds — make raingear feel like an adventure accessory rather than a chore. Kids who love their raingear will actually put it on.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age range does kids raingear cover?

Our raingear is available in sizes for children aged 2–12 years. Check individual product pages for size charts and age guides.

Is the waterproofing durable after washing?

Our waterproof coating maintains its effectiveness through multiple washes when washed correctly. Machine-wash on a gentle cycle with no fabric softener, and tumble-dry on low to reactivate the DWR coating.

Does the poncho cover the school bag?

Yes — our poncho design is generously cut to cover both the child and their school backpack, keeping books and lunch dry in heavy rain.

Can I use the raingear for outdoor sports days?

Absolutely — our breathable raincoats are perfect for outdoor sports in wet weather, keeping children comfortable and mobile without overheating.

How do I reactivate waterproofing if it seems to wear off?

Tumble-dry the clean garment on low heat for 20 minutes — the heat reactivates the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating. This alone often restores near-new waterproofing performance.
